The Holy Bible is the inspired word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. We band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. Our church adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention, June 14, 2000.
Meridian Baptist Church receives members in the following manner:
1. BY LETTER
Candidates for membership by letter must have been baptized into the membership of a church of like faith and order as determined by the church. Those who apply for membership upon the promise of a letter will be received into the watch-care of the church but are not placed on the roll until the letter is received.
2. BY STATEMENT
When church letters cannot be obtained because of loss of records or similarly unavoidable circumstances, candidates are received upon their own statement affirming their faith, baptism and church membership.
3. BY BAPTISM
Candidates for baptism are examined and approved at any regular service at which they present themselves. It is expected that approved candidates will be baptized by a duly authorized person at the earliest practical time after their approval. They are not enrolled as members of the church until after their baptism.
The fact that Jesus died for our sin, was buried, and then rose from the grave is foundational at Meridian Baptist Church. He lives today and stands ready to give abundant and eternal life to all those who repent of sin and place their faith in Him. We invite YOU to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord today!
